Happy for you. After a while of trophy's, you will have you fill of them but for now enjoy the spot light. Now when you can enter into an all VW show and take home the number spot, thems bragging rights!
Your vehicle turned out great.

I could live with that. Im just ready for the weather to get nice so I can RIDE. She is not going to sit in the garage and gather dust. If you dont drive them why have them. Not going to enter much, wanted the experience. I am going to Birmingham tanniehill Bug show this August. Missed it last year, Neither I nor the car was ready that time. Other than that Im just going to enjoy.

It is light gray tweed, from www.sewfine.com.

I ordered the entire interior to match. The seats are charcoal! Light gray. Same with door panels but added the strip of cardinal red for color. Gray carpet.

Over the last year I have had two events where I needed to stop quicker than the stock drum brakes could do. Even though I leave plenty of road between me and the person I'm behind there is still that one person that just for what ever reason pulls directly in front of me. I just could not afford disk brakes as I am now retired/disabled with not much income. While attending the Tannehill Volks Jam this past weekend I scored a new/uninstalled EMPI front disk brake kit for my 59 for 2 bills. Happy Happy Happy. Its not as important but Im on the look out for the rear as I just don't like adjusting brakes not to mention I'm just not as able as I once was.

While i was at it I pulled the rear drums to check things. Ouch the RR had started leaking and every thing was soaked in trannie oil. Yea I fixed that also.

All Good Now. Smile
Sorry for not staying true to original but safety is a Top Priority since she is a driver.

I don't know if you've already done this but. a dual circuit master would be a good safety addition to this car. I'm switching over from single circuit on my 65.

just stumbled on your 26 pages of awesomeness. You guys have skills. The car looks fantastic.

Picking up a '60 Euro w/ Semaphores this weekend if all goes well. Looking at your work gives me the incentive to go for it. Lots of welding although not as much as yours. Haven't welded since i finished my MGB 14 years ago.

Anyway had to give you guys some kudos. Amazing job.

Looks great. Where did you get your harness from? Why did you cover up the clear plastic visors? Also a euro spec car should not have the chrome around the windows.

I dunno, but I've got a 58 Euro and it has chrome on the windows (original rubber). I'd like to know where you got the harness also. I'll be re wiring mine as well and I've got semaphores too

I think you are mixed up, Euro cars still had the window trim. Standard cars did not have the trim, and on the harness its a WiringWorks harness. We just let them know it was a euro car and the wires for the semaphores were included.

Why did you cover the visors with the headliner material? they would of originally looked like this

Nope, de luxes had them since the zwitter. Standards did not. Nothing to do with euro spec.
