I haven't posted here for a while... only driven my lovely Bus 2 miles in 5 weeks but I've been meaning to put up these photos of this Bus... I think it had a new front welded on at some point because the back is from a pre-72 but the front is obviously a post-72.

If you click on the first image it'll open in a new window and you can then easily read the text.

Kind of nice the Bus is still alive but kind of sad the PO let it get to that stage and that the current owner doesn't seem interested in restoring it.

I sort of wish I had driven my Bus to Cambria so I would have had a photo of the two vehicles side-by-side (my Bus is the same color) but c'est la vie:

That's what mine looked like when I picked it up.. I left it like that just to annoy my neighbor since the first thing he asked was when I was going to wash it! I called it the Rolling Petri Dish. Eventually I did wash it and have been going thru the rust one spot at a time building my abilities.

What was the last line on the card... at the Very bottom

"How green can your car be if it doesn't have lichen...." Something something...

That's a '71 deluxe with a later nose grafted on. Somebody apparantly did a terrible job for it to rust like that in the seams. Shame, the rest of the bus doesn't look too rusty. Looks like a good candidate for a donor lowlight nose.

Hee, hee! I think it's all about subtle humor, mild sarcasm and a unique way of answering the oft-heard question: Ew! What is all that on your bus?!

Not very much patina.

Should be more like this one as seen at the Woodburn, Oregon Bug-in in 2012.

Well, now I know what was growing all over my 71 and has taken a liking to the brat. Lichen can be rather hard to get out of paint once it has established itself.
