My wife ordered this for me a few weeks ago, and it just came in. When I walked in the door from work she was so happy to give it to me. Happy Happy Happy

I received mine today also. Now, if I can just find someone to put it together. I forgot there so many of those little parts.

Any good quality hobby shop should have them by now.

Is everyone putting theirs together? I will mess with it when I am not working on the real one that is all apart in my garage.

I plan on building the model with my 13 year old son when the weather gets worse. Not heat in the gaarge will make working on the real one difficult once the snow comes. Fortunately it's been a mild winter so far, and I haven't even opened the model yet.

The ones I have come molded in white plastic. You can build it in several different ways including a VW pan buggy (just like in the old kit).
Also included is two tops, full top or the Surrey top.
Windshield glass comes in clear and blue tint. Same for top rear window.
Rear off road tires are molded in plastic, other tires are rubber.
Engine is 36hp with side mounted fuel pump.
It is a fun kit to build.
Just wish the price was the same as original.

The artwork on the side of the box top is different from the original.

Back in 1969-70, I built 5 or 6 of these models and painted them all different colors (metal flake red, blue, green, orange and purple) to help me decide what color buggy to build. I went with metal flake purple.

Now, 40 years later, the model has been re-issued and my buggy re-built, so I'm going to paint the new model metal flake blue to match how my 63 California Clipper looks today. ( I'm also going to modify the model to include the Clipper flip-up rear end, raised sections on the hood, and add side pods)
