Just read all 20 pages through. What a great thread. I have to say that you are doing an awesome job on your bug. Looking forward to seeing what you will do to her next. Best of luck to you.

Wow. Well its crazy to think I have had this car for four years now. Seems like I just got it yesterday.

I have been away at college, but will be graduating this spring so I think a new chapter will be unfolding here with regards to the VW bug. Here are some pictures I have taken in the past summer/winter of the bug.

Here she is at Vintage Weekend this past July:

This is the reason I need to dump her on the pavement:

It just looks too cool not to do it.

I have a 67 that was restored 6 yrs ago and I have decided that there is no end in sight of upgrading as it's never finished. I do drive mine a bit and it shows its wear and tear. This year is going to be an upgrade to disk brakes on all four. Keep going on your bug it looks great I have a 4" narrowed beam from Matt Watts out of calf. If I did it over again I would just do a 3". I also run 135's front and currently has165's in rear. I'm going up to 195 in rear and 145 front soon enough.... [/img]

Think I saw you at the Spring Fling this weekend. Car looks good, and I see you've still got the rack I sold you a few years back at Springmeet. Smile Damn the weather was miserable, though!

Oh my. Yes. The weather was awful. I did get a chance to make since I was on springbreak and got the car insured and ready to roll...

Love the car. Love the scene. But not at a point in my life where this car makes any sense. Hard to daily drive a VW in the PNW. Now that I am out of school I need to focus on other things. Dont have any space here at my parents house. I love this car, but it for sale.

Many folks have already told me to keep onto it, but I cant right now. This car taught me a lot, and has really given me the appreciation for all cars (not just VW) and it'll always be my first car.

I can always get another one. They give everyone a good dose of nostalgia so I'm sure itll do the same for me.

Go buy it ;D Cool

Don't do it dude! You're gonna end up regretting it. Maybe not soon, maybe not in a year or 5 years, but I'm telling you.. ONE DAY, you're gonna be like damn, I should have never sold that car. Take it from experience. I'm sure a hundred other guys on here will tell you the same thing. Sweet car btw! If I lived in Washington and had the money, I'd snatch it up in a heatbeat.

At least you took plenty of pics to show yours kids one day! Be sure to save the ones with you and the Bug in the photo and burn all of them to a CD. I predict it will become WAY more difficult and expensive to find a used 1960's Bug in 10 more years (2025).

Life has flown by.Every once and awhile my 67 seems to reappear in a dreams at night. I sold it so quickly even though it meant so much to me. It seems like the samba isnt used nearly as much as it once was. Nearly all forums seemed to have died since facebook groups became a thing. I didnt think I was going to ever really buy an old vdub again. I went through a phase of other cars, but still most were flat four engined cars:

Well, right after college I was a lot into hiking and adventuring so naturally a
98 Forester was the answer:

It ended up being low and sweet

Then i went a completely weird direction and got myself a 1968 Chevy:

I returned to the flat four world again with a 2005 blobeye but with more power baby!

Got bored of speed and wanted something simpler to work on, a 1998 Legacy with dozens of jdm swapped parts:

I got married this past summer. Yes, it was to that same girl who helped me 8 years ago with Olga.

This one. This picture is from around 2012-13:

I knew early on she was the one. We moved away from our hometown. Not a lot of car loyalty these past five years. The 67 Bug dreams have never really left me. The hunt for an old VW is on again. But its taking a little bit of a twist. There was a unique pattern of the pictures I noticed of my wife back when we were younger. She was always a fan of bugs, but she would always get up close with a particular VW. Ill let the pictures talk.

camping out a subaru has been fun but, two is coincidence, three is a trend and the trend hasnt lied.
