And question.... How do i take the rubber rings off the bumper mounts, im buying new ones, so installation tip would help. Yes, i could cut them off, but that doesnt help when i put new ones one. Im thinking, when new, they will stretch much easier

Thanks. They are repro. and my cousin smashed his up a bit, which is why he's letting me take off parts. Anyway, i cleaned up the bumpers and they look really nice, like really nice Very Happy

The entire bumper turned out this nice. I'm gonna buy all new stainless steel bolts and nuts for it now. And question: Are these painted black or satin silver??

I'd concider sticking with wide five. If you were gonna go porsche pattern disks it could be justified for the stopping power of the disks. But you can also get them in a wide five. I'm not a purist but I'm not a fan of swapping your early bug's wide five pattern for a late model pattern just for some wheels. There's a lot of sick wheels out there for the wide fives. Just seems like a lot of work cause you like some wheels. Don't get me wrong they are nice wheels, I wouldn't mind a set for my westy but they come in that pattern so I wouldn't have to change anything. Thats just my opinion. When it comes down to it I'm also a big believer of doing what you want to your own car. Just a little bit of feedback for thought. If you go disk brakes the process would be similar. Not sure on what needs to be done if you stuck with drums.

Here is a few wheels. They are the cheapest I have ever seen them also. If your on a budget at all that may help with a decicing factor. Some of them are a little more common but you are dealing with a classic VW. There is a good selection out there put the choices are not endless.

I like the BRM's: These are kinda similar to the gas burners. Not a replica of them they are a wheel of their own.

Both those cars are very nice looking. If this is gonna be your daily driver both those cars have a really good looking stance. Should be able to maintain a really good ride and shouldn't have to worry too much about ground clearance issues in your day to day life.

That bumper turned out really nice. What did you use to clean/polish them?
