| Hose clamp the filter. Replace it every couple of months. As long as it is clamped down and in good shape, it will be fine. |

Ever seen the brass nozzle pulled out of the carb because of the added weight of a fuel filter? I have, and I'll never have a filter in the engine compartment again. There is a factory filter in the tank and the pump that are way more efficient than those cheap paper filters. |

Great '67. Congrats on your purchase. Take a look at my '67 site. I have a lot of info that might help you along. I've been through most of this stuff.

assuming they didnt change it from earlier models... It should just have a square end on the cable with a slit around it for a tiny circlip going through the dustcap. Someone probably pulled it and lost the clip and figured they would do the next best thing

That might help.
The squared end mind be stuck in the dust cap. It might take some persuading. To really get a good look at it you might have to clean it all off really well. The Cable is squared at the end and fits through a square hole in the dust cap. Do not forget the circlip. |

Awesome 67 dude. I had one, loved it. I miss that style dash, lot different than my 71.
Good to see some more younger folks like myself tinkering on dubs, my old friend had a tan 67, full resto, man he hated that car everytime something needed adjustment. He gave it to me like 10 times saying, "here, fkkk it, I don't even want it anymore!" Haha.
Keep it forever. _________________ Daily driven 1972 beetle, no more 70autostick |

did you mark them left and right when you removed them??? original brackets, not tubes are 4 different part numbers. . they are not both brackets are the same. there is nothing wrong with asking "does it matter if i" before doing something. you are welcome to pm me if you don't wish to ask on here. _________________ 1965 panel bus-Kermit

open front hood. remove wiring cover. look at rear of gauge for a knurled nut hold a brige piece. unscrew the nut. at top of tank is a round cover over sender. pry edge up with flat screw driver. with cover off yo take the cable from gauge to sender and pivet it upwards to free ball on end of wire. now pull gauge towards front seat. done.
did you tear the rubber boots holding clips for chrome on dash?? i cannot find new ones so i hope you did not mess them up. _________________ 1965 panel bus-Kermit
