So... just wondering if others have had the same experience... but since I've bought my Westy, every woman I shown pictures to wants to go camping with me Smile

Is the Vanagon a babe magnet?

Yes. It's well documented.
I get interest all the time when traveling alone. Ironically, my wife bought the van.

I can state unequivocally that a bright yellow one is indeed a babe magnet. I have hardly driven mine around town so far, but the Syncro is better than a puppy wearing a bandanna in a college town. Luckily, I am happily married and therefore the power of this thing is in hands that are able to control it for the betterment of mankind. I shudder to think of what one of you young single types would foist upon an unsuspecting babe population at the wheel of this rolling aphrodisiac.....

I went mountain biking with a group in St. Helen's and this one female says to me, after looking inside VanWilder, "Only a real women can appreciate what is going on in that Van" I just smiled and handed her a cold beer. Laughing

No way. I was always responsible with the power. Limited it to one per evening, then max 2 on Saturday and Sunday with an hour between for cleanup....

Which we do so gladly huh? Plus a warm seat out of the rain. Wink Plus my Pug Dog Lily draws them in very nicely as well. Cool
I got the whole package.

VW stands for VULNERABLE WOMEN . I was in WV this weekend i came out of a mini market and there was a babe waiting at my van. As i approached she ask if that was my syncro. She proceeded to tell me about her 88 westy her new bug her 67 bug and pick-up. I was in love. Then her husband came up. What a disappointment. They had a combination of 170 years of vw knowledge That's right she was 85 and still got out of her car and ran over to check out my syncro. So is VW a chick magnet? (They don't grow out of it ) If someone knows Bev and Jack you are lucky they are wonderful people. Kurt

My Westy may be a babe magnet but when women see me in it they reassess their lust. Fortunately, my wife also likes it and she still likes me, so I'm okay with that.

I used to get laid all the time in my Van with 27" tires.

I guess Tranny Betty's wheels are too fat, she gets hit on constantly by guys who want to take her to Baja.

here is her story:

My 87 Syncro, Tranny Betty, is in transition from Syncro to GWagen, so when her Syncro label fell off, I did not put it back on.

Now nobody but me knows I have a Syncro <g>

People do appreciate Betty's Mercedes Centercaps, but I think its the 31" BFG's that gets their attention first.

I see the men saying "4wheeldrive" to their female companions, who tend to point to the pop top as their focus of admiration while saying "camper".

A few notice the TDi label on Betty's Booty. But most seem unaware of the allure of the words "front and rear lockers with solid shaft and decoupler".

Now that she has 3 knobs, Betty wants a GWagen label to further her transition. Im concerned other GWagens might not consider Betty passable.

I told her it takes more than knobs to be a GWagen, and to just be happy as a VWagen, but she has her heart set on transitioning..

Betty wants to lead 4x4 tours, to earn the money she needs to G herself. She wants me to ask if anybody wants to go to Death Valley this weekend Smile
