I love watching an ambitious undertaking like this!
If it needs a name when you are finished, my choice would be "Patch" |

| I think people who just dive in and are able to do things like this have a better-developed lobe in their brain or something. It's impressive to those of us who wouldn't even know where to start. It would be difficult for me to sell something like that after breathing new life into it. I hope you keep posting your accomplishments as you proceed - thanks for sharing!! |

Well thanks for the compliments. To me it's just something else that needs to get done.
and I can assure you my lobes are no more developed than yours -and probably more stunted from all the welding smoke and burning paint. _________________ Collect the whole set! |

Am I wrong or did you weld in a Beetle-size door handle recess? _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

On the other hand, it looks like your previous driver's door is like that too:
Beetle-size door handle recess = Barndoor front door = $$$ if it's decent.
What's on the passenger side? _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

The door handle recess came off the blue door. That door was messed up. Sandblasted, inside pieces cut out and rewelded to get to the dents and the whole skin was worked beyond repair. Only thing I noticed that was different on it was the bumper on the beltline - it must have been off a lh cargo door bus. _________________ Collect the whole set! |

Here's an old pic from years back of the passenger side, maybe you can tell what the handle recess looks like
Man, I wish it looked like that around here this year! _________________ Collect the whole set! |

Well I guess I cut up a previously raped lh cargo model barndoor door sonofabitch!
I'm still working on this project, got a little sidetracked, ran out of mig gas, etc. What's this little bit of bondo on my "dry" cargo door rocker?

That's crazy to think that you have to do the same repair to the white one in the back ground.

I need a motor Mtnbus, hook me up with anything that'll run and we'll go:lol:
I re-fixed my door today, little more warpage from doing it twice but at least it matches the other one. I can't believe I did that.
Ordered a WW rocker for my "Dry" cargo door side...
Been fighting the metal worms as well. Must have been 50 slide puller holes in this 1 rear quarter alone, big holes too. It's the orig panel and not rusted so I'll work with it.

Yeah I know, why so many holes?? And they could reach it from the inside
So I'm wondering about this cargo door
This is a Feb 1960 bus. Shouldn't it have the handle recess? This door is og dove blue and has 2 of the 3 resprays that the rest of the bus has but the odds are that they would have found a dove blue door if they were looking for a used panel door. What about a cresent on the rear hatch? This bus has a flat one.
And that spot on the pass door you can see there, the mirror pulled out so many times they screwed a plate over the mess... There was more holes in that 2"x3" rectangle than there was metal _________________ Collect the whole set! |
