Here you can see the only tools used to get this roof straight...no heat was needed.

The only thing too look at before you get too far into it is the drivers side fender is a replacement just make sure your headlights are the same height
I had a car with mismatched fenders and the non original fender had the headlight sitting lower kinda looked weird. Your horn grilles are already spaced differently. If using aftermarket fenders due to that's all that's available try and use both aftermarket or both original.

Yeah. Agreed. It's your car and you just painted it so kinda late unless you wanna paint another fender. It seems to me like all 67s that have an aftermarket fender have it on the drivers side. A drivers side original would be nice to have. I switched both mine out to aftermarket because of horn grill locations

Yep...already aware.
Covered this awhile back in the build thread...the owner had ran it this way for years prior to the resto. I suggested finding a German fender but he opted to leave it be.

It took me a long time to find a matched pair of original 67 front fenders for mine. As long as Larry is happy thats all that matters.

Been thrashing on the dash.
Original wiring was nasty, ran wrong and covered in over spray but intact, so I opted to clean and rerun it instead of replace. Turning out nicely.

This is Larry the Bug owner who couldn't be happier with everything that has been done. Still hoping I don't wake up to find this was a dream. I haven't been able to add much to the effort but will be refinishing wheels this weekend. It's just beautiful.

Before shot of the dash with the cut-out for the cassette player.

After shot of the repaired dash and an original Sapphire V that Larry yanked out of a VW bone yard decades ago, almost like a premonition that this day would eventually come.

Absolutely astounding, the quality of workmanship & attention to detail is brilliant considering its going to be a daily driver. You have re-invigorated me to crack on with my 66 restoration. You've also restored my faith in humanity to go to all this effort. Smile

Not a huge update but a landmark moment none-the-less.
Power running through the old bug for the first time in a decade.
Also fired up the 46 year old Sapphire V after spending 3 decades in a box on a shelf. Worked without issues...ball game came through loud and clear!

Note: Purists please do not comment on the incorrect color fender beading...Larry has decided that even though he is going for an overall original look he prefers the color contrast on the fender beading and running boards.
