Amazing metal work, John! The upper dash pad has already been reproduced & is available today. I'm currently in the process of reproducing these early door & quarter pads in fiberglass with same texture as original. Likely 3-4 months away. |

Thanks Lee I had seen those, while a terrific option to have available I'm going to try to create something a little more original if I can.
The door / 1/4 pads could be made a lot simpler but I've tired to make them as accurate as possible, hopefully the vacuum forming goes well |

That might work fine Mike, but John is wanting to use the CORRECT stuff.
John, I'd suggest contacting Lee Hedges, or maybe John at House of Ghia, as they have those tubes as well. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Well my extended European holiday is nearly over with less than 2 weeks remaining which is a bummer but all good things come to an end eventually.
I did manage to get a few much needed parts from Vintage car parts here in Germany, parts look nice however I wish their service was as good.
My good friend Mr Klein also sent a couple of parcels for me to take home, thinking about that makes one realize how great the on line vw community can be.
Sooooo, the point of all of this dribble?
None really, just felt like doing an update even though I've done nothing for the last 2 months.
Will be a while yet before there's any more real progress as i'll have a lot of catching up to do work wise but i'm sure i'll be able to manage little bits and pieces. |

My apologies but nothing to report sorry, had a big life change so been tied up with that while the Ghia has just sat waiting patiently.....
I'm constantly thinking about working on it, just don't seem to have time at the moment. |

A tiny bit of progress, a friend of mine has been working on reproducing the sun visor clips by way of 3d printing.
They came out pretty nice and the hex nut is a nice tight fit, still some clean up to be done and a coat of suitable colour they will be good to go.
My old ones are curved which I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be so the printed ones will need to be curved as well but rather than try and print them that way I'll shape them by heating them and pressing them down on a curved steel mold.
I'll probably have him make some extra sets if anyone needs them.

Finishing work tomorrow for the year and the end is in sight for my lifestyle change so the Ghia will get worked on again, can't believe it has been nearly 5 months since I last did any work on it.
There's lots of things which will consume a great deal of time like finishing off my vacuum table to re skin my newly made interior door and rear 1/4 caps.
Have all my plating done for the doors with just the 1/4 vents left to chrome, trying a new idea for 1/4 glass seals as well.........still a bit unsure of the outcome but lets hope for the best.
Been trying to find some mass loaded vinyl floor insulation here as well but no luck so far which stops me finishing the carpeting.
