It is with great pleasure that Misbehavin' Motorsports is announcing that our 2012 event schedule is now complete! The racers have asked for it, car clubs and spectators wanted it - and we listened. Please join us on SATURDAY, MAY 19th, 2012 at "The Strip" at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for "MISBEHAVIN' DOES VEGAS!"

This will be a full complement event with VW Pro Racing Association Championship Series drag racing, and a multi-state, multi-car club car show and vendor row offering a sampling of unique and varied goods and services for all.

Due to wildly positive feedback, and their tremendous crowd pleasing abilities, Misbehavin' Motorsports has invited back the Western Motorcycle Drag Racing Association to race with us in Vegas. 8 second VW's, 7 second Funny bikes and 6 second Nitro Harleys all attempting to set records will surely make for an unbelievable day of racing with the fastest air-cooled vehicles around! An epic Volkswagen weekend is in the making! Misbehavin' Motorsports in collaboration with several local Las Vegas Volkswagen Clubs are putting together a full weekend of activities for all to enjoy. Whether you’re coming from out of town or are a Vegas area local, this is a weekend you won’t want to miss.

Thursday, May 17th - Festivities start with a 6pm cruise at Sonic on Sahara & Torrey Pines…presented by the Kafer Cruisers.

Friday, May 18th – “OPEN HOUSE” at Nevada Offroad Buggy starting at NOON and going until 5pm.

Friday evening – “THE GATHERING” at Misbehavin’ Motorsports’ host hotel “The Palace Station Hotel and Casino.” Brought to you by - 702 Revolution, Island Pride VW’s, Einfach Deutsch and Misbehavin’ Motorsports, “THE GATHERING” will feature 100+ Volkswagens, LIVE MUSIC and a raffle just to start off the night. The BUDWEISER Trailer will be there with the BUD GIRLS serving beer $3/16oz! Burgers and Dogs will be BBQ’d on the property, $5 for burger or dog plus chips and soda. Did we mention 100 + Volkswagens??

Saturday, May 19th – “Misbehavin’ Does Vegas!” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway "The Strip!" Gates open at 2PM! Yes, you read that right - 2PM - Sleep in after Friday night’s party and drag your butt to a day of drag racing and a car show you won’t soon forget! There will be a JUDGED car show for both Air and Watercooled VW’s with over 30 Classes, PRA Championship Series Drag Racing, WMDRA Drag Racing (funny and NITRO bikes!), Swap Spaces, and Vendor Row. Don’t miss the engine blow and BURN OUT CONTEST during the break between qualifying and eliminations!

After a great start to the PRA season with Misbehavin in the Desert its looking like the event in Vegas is going to be a huge success.

Can Kris Lauffer post up a 7 second pass in Vegas as well ?? How cool would it be that a P/M make a 7 second pass ( or 2 ) at each of the Misbehavin Motorsports events this season.

Well made the trip from San Diego out to Las Vegas with the thoughts of having a great Vegas VW weekend. Friday night saw a ton of sweet air and water cooled cars show up at Palace station and it looked like the show the next day was going to be a blast.

Boy I was wrong!

First when we showed up we were put into lines like at the Bug In here in So-Cal, not bad right, wrong. 95 degree heat and no one telling us what to do except to get into line. It turned out we needed to walk up to the building at the front of the line to stand in another line to buy tickets to get in. At least the Las Vegas speed way had people that knew what to do. Then as people got tickets they had to shuffle out of line to pull in the gate. Once in you were parked promptly. The show area could have been laded out a little better but that turned out to be the least of the issues for the day.

Now this was a judged show and I did see a group of judges going around. Now if the past like at the VW Jamboree's back in the 80 and 90's they only judged on what was displayed, if you did not display no points were given. So with my car completely opened up, including wheels off on one side with mirrors under the car to show off the gloss black powder coated pan. Since none of the other 60-70 cars had there car fully displayed, I thought for sure I had a good chance at top honors. Not the case. What ever the guy that won built the car with his dad and was overwhelmed and extremely happy about the win, and that is good enough for me.

Then they had scheduled a engine blow and burn out contest. I said what the hell, I'll put my wheels back on and put on a show for the crowd. What the hell rubber cleans off. It turns out the only myself and Bill with the carbon cab signed up. Well what the hell we'll both burn some miles off in the name of fun and hell one of us would go home with a $100 bill for our fun. This was scheduled for 6pm. I put my tires back on broke down the display and got ready. Well because of a ton of track problems they kept pushing back the time. No problem, I signed up and planned on honoring my commitment. Well 1030pm rolls around and across the PA system they say that because of lack of interest the burn out contest and the engine blow is not going to happen.

WTF, I could have been loaded up and half way back to San Diego. And lack of interest in the engine blow, hell I'm sure that everyone left would have enjoyed the blow. Not to mention I bought 50/50 raffle tickets and the other half was going to the person who was closest to the time it took to blow. When I bought the ticket they said the pot was over $300. By the way they never called the winning raffle number either.

When I talked to the show promoters they said the reason there were not that many people there was because of politics. They also said they had most likely lost over 7k putting the show and races on. I say all of that does not matter, if you tell people your going to something, do it no matter what. As far as most of cali not showing up for 1/4 mile racing and the promoter kind of bad talking them, I'm sure the feeling are the same.

Bottom line Cali, you did not miss anything except some crazy racing.... I for one will never attend a nother Misbehaving show. It's poorly run and they don't do what they say.......... Worst show in 25 years.........
