| I have 2 good freinds that dont race any more but they ran super stock&some other classes, they were always bumping the index&pissing off the other guys, but the guy that owned the car would just barly go under and the motor was screaming,He liked to rpm the crap out of it.then say I thought it was faster than that, somethens rong with it.then steve(the engine builder) would make a pass and knock the crap out of the index. wtf?How does the car always run faster for you??He never told him he was short shifting it,Keeping it in the power/torque band. They used to reset reckord in 2&3 classes at the same race, By changing carbs&intakes (2bbl,4bbl, multi carb) Those days were fun. I miss racin |

I can still see 10 different drivers and 12 different time slips. |
There won't be 10 different drivers in Jeremy's car, only him. _________________

Dyno sheets are valuable IMO. Not every engine built will see a drag strip, but the ones that do may benefit from the torque curve. Knowing where the peak torque, where it falls off etc can be of value. To say they are pointless is rediculous. _________________ '67 Sunroof
