Picked up my first beetle today, it has lived 1 mile from where I grew up since the day it was new. I have the deck lid, taillights, and mostly everything else.

Oil Filter. Often called a Bee Hive because of the shape. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

That's an Empi oil filter cooler. Check it out in the 1958 Empi catalogue in the archives http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/58empicatalog/5.jpg
Practically every option on this car came straight from that catalogue, Okrassa included. _________________ RIP HBB (1984-2009)

I found this in a local farmers field. I am looking into buying it and the other 2 newer ones he also has. The oval is pretty rough. _________________ Be happy with what you have, you will save allot of money that way....

Just found out she is willing to sell them to me. Prob going to end up selling it because its too big of a project for my abilities but I think that's better than having it rot away. I wonder how much it would cost to have someone else restore it? _________________ Be happy with what you have, you will save allot of money that way....
