What is the difference between regular plugs and resistor plugs the part store by my house have both and wondering which would be better _________________ 72 Super

the resistors supposedly reduce emi to the onboard computers of modern cars. they also have the negative side effect of reducing the spark energy. use resistor plugs if you have computer-controlled fuel injection.
they will work in your beetle, but they are not ideal. non-resistor plugs are best for a points & carburetor engine, and will deliver the maximum spark energy. _________________

Before all the electronics, I believe they were also used to help eliminate radio noise. _________________ jlex.
