Virtanen makes many good panels for early cars .i have recently bought a few of his panels and can testify that he does great work.He makes jacking points for split and oval .See for yourself here.Sensible prices to.

Nice repair panels , but your pans would actually need to be quite good
otherwise to use those |

Nice repair panels , but your pans would actually need to be quite good
otherwise to use those |
Ideal for someone who has just fitted new pans which I thought the thread was about.I have seen klockenheim panels which have the surrounding material attached ,but not early style.

Is anyone producing anything for us (un)lucky enough to be in the RHD world?
I would love a pair for my late ('57) oval!
They're still in good condition at the moment - but it can never hurt to have too many spares right?

Thought I would revive this thread as I need to purchase floor pans for my '56.
My question is are there only three choices? Gerson, WW, and Brazil? Is there any other companies making these pans?
Gerson = reusing old seat tracks, jack and rear support?
WW = welding new seat tracks, jack and rear support?
Brazil = thin metal but ready to use?
None of them seem to have the 'knob/tabs' for securing the floor mat?
Any additional information will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Virtanen makes pan repair panels. But not complete pans.
Gerson's pans are as close to original as you are going to get.
True they don't come with seat tracks but your old ones can be used.
WW's are nice but incorrect for an early oval or a split. They are not 100% accurate for a later oval but they are pretty close.
The Brazilian and Danish pans are thinner and don't fit as well. They usually have wrinkles in the metal due to low quality or worn out press dies.
I highly recommend the Gerson's pans due to the quality. If you are not worried about all of the details being correct then go with the WW pans.
I wouldn't use the Danish or Brazillian pans on any car. Their quality is poor and the ammount of labor to get them fitting correctly will be more and you still end up with really thin pans.
As far as mat studs. The '55 and earlier are available from WW and are just basically generic upholstery snaps. There is someone making the '56 and later weld on studs.
As with most things for air cooled VW, you usually need to buy parts from various sources because there a a lot of niche manufacturers making different parts.
