Have a quick question on discs. I have a ‘66 with front drums. I'm pretty sure they are stock, but reading Bentley last night it says that all the Ghias covered in the manual (1966-1969) had front discs.

Does anyone know when the Ghias first got front discs?

Beginning with the 1967 model year.

Thanks! I thought that was the case, but Bentley seemed to say different, so I wasn't sure.
Clears that up.

Okay, I have a follow-up question to that. I have a Ghia beam with a single pin caliper on one side and a double pin caliper on the other. Which one is correct and what year did they change?

I believe the single pin caliper was a one year only in 67

I stand corrected.

I've found this referenced a few times on different searches:
111 698 151A...Set of brake pads for disc brakes for T-1 & Ghia up to 7/72...
111 698 151B...Set of brake pads for disc brakes for S.B. & Ghia 8/72-79...

Interesting exciter. My Ghia, no discs, is a later one as well... 972937, I don't have a BC so I'm not sure of the date, just going by the high VIN. Is your VIN higher than this one?

the vin on my wifes is lower than yours??????? its 971685 . It has always puzzled us that its a 66 with swingaxle and balljoint 4 lug with front disk brakes????? She bought it as a project that was dissasembled however the pan was all together and the front beam and disc brakes appeared to be factory on there at least it lookd like it had been on there for 46 years? Possibly someone upgrade it to 67 brakes way back in the day?
