Nice work Dave.
I saw Hans at the Springmeet this past weekend - he sounded exited - although maybe a little bit nervous - about driving this beast all the way to California. |

Catching this thread up on a couple things I've done in the last month or so...
There was some weird rust up the A pillar I repaired and blended some paint on this and the other repairs.

In front of the 43 Kdfwagen is a 1952 deluxe microbus. Noticed the prices posted today in the classifieds. Which is worth more? |

Hey Dick- Here's a picture of the deluxe when we drove it to Jerome in the late 90's.

A few updates... The last of the metal work for now. I repaired the right lower dogleg as the bumper mounting area was missing and a quick patch on the floor to keep feet from going through. Also got the bumper straightened thanks to Mark Rafferty.

Very nice. What's the secret to getting a mangled bumper like that straight again. Its thick metal so is it just a case of applying plenty of heat ?
Any good threads showing the metal work required ?
Thanks

I don't know what Mark's tricks are? I have enough trouble straightening a press bumper with heat and a variety of metal hammers, but I didn't want to refinish this one as it wouldn't look right on the bus. Mark uses no heat? I dont know, but it's pretty cool... _________________ David S |

I got a new main wiring harness thanks to Ed Hughes. Old one was a brittle, fried mess... Just about got all electrical working.
Old one...
New one...
New main harness installed...

Im not gonna clog up this great thread and if this offends anybody I will delete it but since a few mentioned Marks ability to straighten press bumpers I will show what he did for mine. I too wanted to maintain the look of the bumper as it matched my bus to a tee. No heat/burn or hammer marks.
