Oh man Al... It wasn't until I read your meme post that it occurred to me that Snorkelstang looks like something the Banana Splits would roll in on and pile out of.

Holy crap, do they still make both of those Revell street machine models?
I built both of them over 20 years ago _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?

The Banana Splits would be fun! Maybe Chuck Norris could come? I think Snorkelstang really stands on it's own as it is.
Any updates on getting that axle in there BigAl ?
By the way...I sent something off to Jalopnik...but if everybody spreads the word all over the place I think someone will just have to pick up on it. _________________ Cheers!

Nope. They're from the early '90s, and I have a stockpile of them saved for urgent projects like this one. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

SNORKELSTANG model update
The exoskeleton is nearly done and the opera windows cut.
Plenty still to do, such as windshield visor, mirrors, rear valance, and of course the snorkel! _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

Your model building talent never ceases to amaze me. That is an art form. It's hard enough to customize a real size car, but you, sir, pull it off in 1/25 scale. Kudos to you! You are the Chuck Norris of the model building world. |

I have a Mustang GT that I'm going to hack up. This SNORKELSTANG will have V8 power.
I'm approaching it as if I'm building a kit of the SNORKELSTANG, not necessarily reincarnating the car itself. Every tiny detail would be tough to replicate. (If anyone has the right headlights or taillights in 1/25 scale, let me know.) I'd like to find an artist who can hand-paint tiny details. That's one skillset that's outta my wheelhouse. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

your "lift" for the model is perfect |
You mean my shop vise, or the lift of the body? The height would be perfect were I building a SNORKELSTANG donk, which is not beyond the scope of possibility!
Maybe one of our artists can whip up a concept. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.
