Not to get this thread further off topic (but who would really care, anyway?) but I've read the thread on that 21 window too. It would be easy to miss among the 12,457 photos posted in there but they did not fill that channel with bondo - they welded in a boxed piece of rail and bondo'd that as apparently it'll be exposed rather than covered by headliner/upholstery.

See this page for details: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4...;start=279

Spoken like a true Snorkelstang Purist, thanks for keeping it real. We tend to get bored from the lack of updates.

There's been a post on the Snorklestang facebook page asking if folks think it'll be running this year! Folks seem optimistic!

rumors are out there that when willie nelson wrote this song he was singing about snorklestang. as the trademark holder of the word "SNORKLESTANG" i refute this claim because if it was about snorklestang he would have replaced the word "crazy" with "STUPID"

Some inspiration. One of Snorkie's very distant cousins found and restored.

Very distant is the operative word here... Snorklestang's creator is nowhere near in the same league as Ed Roth.

Yes, VERY distant. It's the car equivalent to all human life originating in Africa. We're all related if you go back far enough.

This thread is like a turd that keeps floating to the surface no matter how many times you try to flush it. There are much more exciting projects making much faster progress that can be seen all over the various forums. I don't see why anyone would want to bump up the snorkelstang thread after it goes off the first page unless they have a lot of time to piss away and nothing better to do (In the interest of not looking like a hypocrite, it was near the bottom of the first page of Reader's Rides, and I've been sidelined with a migraine all day). If there was any actual progress being made on the car, I d be happy to see snorkelstang get bumped up to the top every other day, or even get re-stickied.

We should all be talking about Will.I.Am's 58 Beetle. I heard he wants to park it next to Snorkelstang at some upcoming shows...
