So how far are you going with this "resto"? Body and paint redo or just get old Snorkie running and driving?

maybe one day this will actually turn into a "build thread"...maybe before page 200?

That would really be awesome, I mean it.

First phase is to get Snorkelstang running and driving and then we are going to figure out what the next phase is for restoration.

Thanks,

Big Al

running and driving is the easy part. i have no skill and i make VWs go again all the time. a snorkelstang can't be that much more difficult?

who is doing the work? is the car still in CA? restoration? just DA the whole thing down, get a few cafeteria trays line up with bondo piled high, fill away, come back with the cheese grater and smooth it out, rattle can primer, some magenta metal flake and you're done with the body and paint.

leave the decklid as is.

The car is still in California at Oldbug.

Do they sell Bon-doh in 55 gallon drums?

I think you guys aught to fill in the bad spots with modeling clay then make a mold of the car and sell fiberglass Snorkelstang kits. Make 'em to mount on either a Mustang chassis or a Bug pan. Wink

I think one Snorkelstang in this world is enough.

They'd probably make a killing if it were still 1982 or 1983; today? Probably not so much. Laughing

If we don't make kits, how else are we going to have a legion of Snorkelstangs to attack the Death Star?

Could Snorkelstang be pregnant with triplets after the California border fornication incident with UZI............................................................

Yes, but as I'm sure you're already aware, it's only available in the south, which means you'll have to buy it and ship it to California...
