Hello Everyone,

We moved up to North Central MA in August from WV. We belonged to a club called Pan Air VW's (panairvws.com) check it out sometime.

While looking for clubs in our area found nothing close so decided to start up Air-Cooled Cruisers of Central New England.

Similar to our club in WV we have no dues. We are just a bunch of Air Cooled Enthusiast who love getting together and enjoying our love for our cars. We have several members so far and would love to extend an invitation to anyone who is interested in joining us.

I'm currently working on our first cruise for Spring 2012. We are based out of Winchendon, MA and will start of our first cruise from our home base.

Any inquiries can be sent to me on here via reply to topic or via pm.

Thanks again and hope to see you on the roads soon....

You should check out the Volks Vair Fair in Shrewsbury Mass. Usually the first or second week in Aug. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=461945&highlight=volksvair+fair

You are in a prime location. I used to live in Lunenburg while I went to Fitchburg State but my brother still lives there. We're bus guys. There is a huge (5-7) air cooled community in Fitchburg. Every thurday night there is a social at the local pub in down town fitchburg at The Boulder lots of water cooled people who are cool too but look for a couple guys with huge beards and a kid with a felt hat. If you ever need anything hit me up. other than that not sure what your previous group in WV but there aren't many air cooled people up here. Its basically a group of 5-7 of us.

Just a little south of you in Connecticut there is a pretty big air cooled following. Multiple events throughout the year and a pretty big support group too.

Wow... love all the lurkers and posters... Great to see everyone it taking a peek. So can't wait for the shows to start and to meet everyone up in this area.

Here is a picture of me with my baby in Lake George for Oktoberfest in 2011. It was cold and rainy.

She is currently in for her winter check up. Many things happening with her including new front beam and disk brakes. Hoping to get a paint job on her before the season starts. Other minor things such as a new gas tank and new seats can't forget those. My battery is currently in between the seats and going to be changing that out and replacing it with a sub woofer Cool gotta have tunes to override my dual unbaffled 4 inch cannons .... May even use some tax return for a new scat motor. Keeping my pink tins though...

I will be keeping everyone posted on the first cruise date. Hoping for mid April dependent on the weather. A preview of the first cruise will take us up by Mt. Monadnock and then out to dinner at Kimball/s Farms.

Happy VW'ing....

Thank you Chris... I'm sure we will see you soon...

I have also have made a facebook group page for Air-Cooled Cruisers of Central New England:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Air-Cooled-Cruisers-of-Central-New-England/275729232449477

I posted some pics from a show called Broke Down which is held at the Gardner Airport every year by a group called Broke Status. They did an amazing job there were a lot of cars. Lots of water cooled but also some fine looking air cooled.

I'm getting so excited for our season to start. See you all soon....

Deb,

I saw your Buggy at the Broke Status show. I had the rusty and dented grey/mango green '61 bus. You'll recognize it as one of the few VWs at that show that wasn't lowered.

I'd be interested in joining you for a central Mass. VW outing.

You should consider planning it around some of the local events on this calendar:
http://www.limbobus.org/snippetmaster/events.html

It's always good to avoid conflicting dates with other local events.

FYI, I run the Brookline, MA Transporterfest/VW day show on Columbus Day weekend. It's held at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum.

Well I just came back to New England from my daughters wedding in Vegas... upon arrival I see this white stuff... dang that puts a damper on cruising...

We attended an indoor car museum and saw 3 VW's. These cars can be for sale... first was a 57 Bus going for 85K (not quite in my budget LOL) the other two were beetles one not for sale and the other sold.

I have been finding some VW only shows and also some all makes shows so hoping to pull together our group to invade all or most of these shows.... Nothing better than cruising, enjoying a car show and meeting new friends.....

C'mon nice weather... I want to ride.....

Great to see more & more old-VW enthusiasm popping up in and around our beloved New England! Keep up the good work, Air Cooled Cruisers!

A little south of you, the CT VW Association sponsors/runs a variety of events during the season, and you can check out their calendar which is accessible via their official web site: www.ctvwa.org

One new one that looks quite interesting is their First Annual Swap & Meet-Up in Marlborough, CT, on May 20th, ref:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=494192

I just scanned a paper copy of the flyer that CVA's new President Bill sent me a few days ago:
