I just called Jeff Svirtunas who owns the '69 Fasty and told him about this thread. He won't be at the show Sunday, but hopefully will jump in here.

Awesome..... I know they were on the hunt now for a squareback and if they were going to find one before today or tomorrow they were going with that... otherwise I think you guys are up next... I sure hope it pans out.... I'm still just so excited the VW's are being thought of for this... Absolutely LOVE seeing VW classics get noticed....

I am thinking about putting the interior of my Notch back to the original colors using OG material that is still available but is $200 per yard Rolling Eyes

Need to reset the rear suspension height 50 years has caused her to sag a bit.

Also picked up a nice Albert mirror which I am installing very soon

Putting the original black steering wheel back on and getting rid of the Nardi

considering putting the heat ex-changers back in as well and losing the J-tubes

having some hubcaps re-chromed (64/5 type 3 only ones) which are hard to find

Need to have her looking her best for the Type 3 invasion next summer in upstate NY

I got some major oil leaks solved under the trans of my '61 bus in the fall. I hope to fix some electrical-idiot light issues in that bus this winter.

I might acquire a '73 bus that is hibernating outside my shop for now.

Lucas, what are the details on the type 3 invasion show?

Hey Stan hope all is well. The type 3 invasion is every couple years and they choose a new location to hold it. Next one is in upstate NY and involves track time at Watkins Glen -not actual racing of course but it will be awesome to take a lap or two around the course which I spent a lot of time at as a child.

I have touched base with a couple type 3 people here in the North east and I would love to get a caravan together to make the trip out.

Here is a link to the Invasion site with some more details.

and the type 3 forum thread:
