What's up guys. Been catching up here, figured I'd throw this out to you guys. New England's lacking a good air cooled poker run.

Somewhere with some nice roads...awesome stops....and some quality miles.

I think it could be alot of fun. Especially with a good turnout. Something long enough where it's an achievement to make it to the end.

If there is already an even like this which I missed the memo on, feel free to educate. I didn't have luck finding some in the area. Would love go get the ball rolling on one up heRe.

I would gladly participate in such an event- I do not know of one currently. I know a few others around the area that may want to join as well. I prefer to drive esp. in a group over a show.

I have been talking with others in person about it. Seems they happen all over the country but we're lacking one up here in new england, and are very interested.

I was catching up on Wheelers and Dealers on Velocity tv, and it was the episode where they fixed up that museum piece, one cyl vintage car, and drove it 60 miles with a ton of others, and it just seemed awesome.

Few stops along the way so everyone can talk and see the other rides, as well as people passing by.

Find some great roads...some cool destinations along the way to stop....and just have a good time on the move. Nothings better than sharing the road with a bunch of aircooleds

Let's melt this damn snow and I'm in!
I'm getting cabin fever over here and miss the time behind that split windscreen and that massive round thing we call a steering wheel...
I gotta get crackin on doing these little projects I've been planning and keep putting off.
I need some push.

What exactly is a Poker run? This group does regular cruises, but I'm not familiar with a Poker run.

A poker run is when you pay a fee, obtain a card at each different stop and at the final whoever has the best poker hand wins, money earned by the run usually goes to benefit a charity

Deb,

Any spring cruise plans, or other dates picked yet? I'm working on the LiMBO events calendar now.

Could be alot of fun, very common for motorcycle and snowmobile groups. its a fun excuse to put some miles on and enjoy the ride, usually in a neat area.

As for a loop, since this is a new england thread, shall we pick a state firSt?

Something like this can be a blast to do every year, with more and more people.

Not sure how you all feel about it, but I have an idea for the charity aspect of it. We always participate in the Officer Lavery motorcycle ride here in CT every year. Such a great turnout, fire departments always come out and hang the American flag high on their biggest boom out over the roadway, and police supporters line the streets and wave us thru. Its a great feeling and experience. As a fellow brother in blue, and with all the recent BS going on today and killing of police officers, maybe we can do something along the lines of blue lives matter. Find a chair to give to the kids of some of these fallen officers, or something at least to show some support instead of all the negative vibes in the news lately.

Just thinking out loud.

cricket cricket...

doesnt need to involve funds either, can simply start with a nice cruise, or a mapped out loop, for us all to hit certain destinations and explore, running into a bunch of people on the way.

"If you build it they will come" in other words it doesn't take much to get something going and people will show. I came up with the Frog Rock rest stop get together last year and was amazed when more than one car arrived!

BTW we're doing this again on July 25th
Frog Rock Rest Stop ( and food stand) -Rt 44

212 Pomfret Rd

Eastford, Connecticut 06242

Come join us for some Great Eats, Antiques and tourist information at the historical Frog Rock and hang out with other CVA club members.

They sell things like Burgers, Hot Dogs seafood and ice cream at the food stand.

Hi All... so I'm planning our cruises for this coming year.

I have a tentative date for our first cruise of Saturday April 25th. Of course this is all dependant of the weather and I will post more details soon.

Our 4th Annual Covered Bridge Cruise / Cookout will be held on Sunday June 7 This is our most popular cruise so please plan to join us if you have not in the past, I will post details as we get closer.

The next two cruises I have planned for Sunday August 23 and Sunday October 18. (weather dependant) I'm looking to change up some of the cruises this year so please bear with me while I make the adjustments to the routes. And possible plan the Poker Run. Smile

There will be a lot of shows in between that we will be attending so I will post as we go for those also. (All dates above are subject to change)

I should be able to make the April 25th cruise.

I made some progress fixing some rust, brake and fuel supply issues on my '61 mango bus this winter. Should be good to go by then.

Hi All… Our first cruise of the 2015 season is upon us. Come on down to John’s Air-Cooled Auto 202 School St. Winchendon MA on Saturday April 25. We will meet there for 11am. This is our
Meet and Greet Cruise, we will gather around 11 and then leave around 12pm to take a quick trip up and around Mt. Monadnock ending up over at Kimball Farm in Jaffrey NH for a quick bite to eat or a quick ice cream. You may disperse from there or you can follow us back to the Garage to just hang out and chat. This is the shortest of our cruises and we all want to get those bugs out for future shows, so come on over and join us, we love meeting new faces too so if you have never joined this is the time to come Hope to see you then.
