He drove there with no tin above the header and a hose directing the hot air that the fan is sucking in, back into the carb, so no fan belt should finish the motor off on the way home!

Now I know what kind of bumper to get for my Ghia. Hmmm....I wonder if the hot tailpipes would give the bumper a nice torched patina over time. Might even give the whole car a nice torched patina over time.

This is a 1958 Auto Union 3 cylinder, 2 stroke 3=6 DKW engine bay. I saw it in a salvage yard a few years ago. The 3=6 model means the 3 cylinder 2 stroke produces about the same power as a conventional 6 cylinder 4 stroke engine. This car was for sale at $1500. I was tempted.

I don't see any abortion engine... just a dkw that doesn't even look too bad for a junkyard car.

This 2086cc 7-cylinder radial engine is made of aircooled volkswagen parts.
The (mostly modified) used parts are cilinders, pistons, cilinderheads, pushrods, bearings, valvetrain, oilpump and starter of a 1200 Beetle.
The engine has electronic ignition, fuel pump, and a double Solex 2 x 40mm carburator.
The rest of the needed parts are made by myself.

Pretty darn awesome if you ask me. Cool
