|
|
When managing Classified Ads, it's a bit cumbersome to select each individual ad for one operation (eg, Renew, Deactivate) and then scroll down the screen to select the operation and finally click 'Submit'. A global 'Select All' check box would simplify this. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Yes, it would be easier and there used to be one but I took it off to make it harder to renew ads.
People with 100+ ads were going in there and hitting "check all" and renewing all their ads at once and "taking" over whole classifieds pages. There were numerous complaints.
There are deactivate all/activate all selections in you want to take all of your ads offline for a while. _________________ How to Post Photos

So, Activate/Deactivate All works without requiring the check mark? _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

You noticed that as well? Perhaps a limit should be placed on the number of ads someone can post as well as renew within a 1-hour period. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Yes, that is true but it takes more work.
I have considered a time limit but user feedback about abuse has been minimal. _________________ How to Post Photos

Fair enough. Just one more idea -- would is be possible (meaning, not a lot of work) to modify the management screen so that Inactive Ads fall to the bottom of the list. The color schemes are sometimes difficult to catch them when I'm searching/scrolling, and knowing they were all grouped at the bottom of the last page would make finding dealing with them much easier. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. You could click on "Active Ads" so the inactive ones are omitted. |
Actually, I was asking for a way to be able to directly address the Inactive Ads. I see what I was overlooking and that it is already addressed through the filters at the top of the screen. My mistake! _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Wow I'm one of the members that do that and never thought it was a problem. I will not do that anymore. I did not do it intentionally. All the adds were needing renewal and I renewed them. I did notice all of them in a row and thought it was cool. Thanks Jon and Everett for letting me know it is wrong. Can you mix up my adds so they are not all in a row? Or should I deactivate some and reactivate not in a row? DL |

Don, you are ok, you only have 5-6 in a row and 23 ads total at the moment.
We're talking more about the people with 400 ads that renew 100 at once.
My opinion is that is useless as I typically renew 4-5 ads at a time, with 1-2 days between renewals.
(When I remember, I'm forgetful about popping up older ads)
This spreads it out and in my opinion I think results in more sales as I often get emails regarding other, older, ads. _________________ How to Post Photos
