Mine's CB Maxi2, from about 30 years ago, still says Claude's Buggies on it. 26mm gears, fine. I formerly used it with a flat cam in my 1835 engine, then in late 1980s changed to a dished cam, and got a longer-shafted 26mm gear to make that oil pump/filter work in the new 1835 engine. I use a Quiet Pack exhaust, no clearance issue. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. So based on the last couple of posts, one cannot simply pull the pump out to install the plug for full flow? I know I can get it out without splitting the case. Is it because of possible leaks? Why shouldnt/coudnt I do this? _________________ Daily driven 1972 beetle, no more 70autostick |

yeah, you can plug the pump easy, the problem is where to run the oil back into the case?
tap galley? tap cooler adapter? whats your plan for that? |

I see, didn't get that far.
Trying to figure out what I want to do with my in/out pump cover the po installed with a hose looped from in to out. I want to filter my oil, but a bug lovin birdy told me it doesn't filter all the oil and may drop my pressure. I'm guessing full flow is the only way to filter ALL the oil pumping through the system..?
I don't want to have to run an external cooler either.
And I'm assuming pump with the built-on spin on adapter also doesn't filter ALL the oil.
I believe im beginning to see how the inside of each one works. _________________ Daily driven 1972 beetle, no more 70autostick |
