Hi,
On a '75 Super Beetle FI, there's 7mm (1/4 inch) FI hose everywhere except for one piece which is 11mm.
I didn't take out this 11mm piece out and my question is, does this piece need to be a FI quality piece of hose? |

Key word is to use "Gates 30R9".
We bus guys use the 5/16" (~ 8mm)hose in a pinch for the 7mm lines sometimes as they fit a little better. Personally I like the ABA stainless hose clamps, but the ones from German Supply are also excellent as they crimp on.
The 10mm fuel line that goes from the fuel pump to the fuel filter can likely use the 3/8" size although it is a squeak smaller. Although not under huge pressure, you still want the good stuff. Again, good clamps are required. |
