Hey everyone a friend and I are restoring a 71 super beetle. I know that its being a 71 with a flat windshield makes it rare but it has the auto stick and A/C with it. This car more valuable with these items or does it matter? I think the auto stick may need some work and a newer a/c costs about $1500. Being in Florida AC is a big thing and is mostly must. If i have these items will the car sell for more if I do sell it? |

71 &72 super beetles had the flat( well almost flat) windshields. The curved w/s showed up on the 73 supers. So 71/72 supers are very common. Some would suggest that the auto stick is a negative factor in determining the car's value. A/C assuming it works is OK but will not dramatically affect value. Take a look through the Samba classifieds to get an idea of a 1971 super beetle's value. Bottom line, they are very common and their typical selling prices reflect that. _________________ 1960 beetle

No one has 71 supers...
Honestly, I don't know if it's because I have one, but it seems to be the most common year I run into. _________________ 69 Beetle - Daily driver

71 Super is not a valuable car, but it is a great driver, easy to fix, and has a lot of inexpensive, readily available parts. I love my 71 Super. _________________ 1970 Type II, Betty

I have a 71 with a sunroof. I had a 74 years ago and like my 71 much better. The 71 is more classic. The 74 had so many modern upgrades that it just didn't feel like a classic car. _________________ 71 Super Beetle

71 super og paint clementine! best of both worlds prices are still reasonable . By that point Vw had so many cool colors options. _________________ Just Cruzin Sur Califas VW Car Club est♤1998 |
