howdy all
I'm putting back together my early 60 beetle. I have in my parts bin, two sets of rearview mirror/sunvisors. The parts are identical, have the same serial number, same mirror placement, same everything. On one set, the sunvisors are smooth and have some sort of padding inside them. On the other set the visors have very small horizontal ribs on it and it has no padding inside. I cant remmember which set came out of my car (the other set may be from a 63 I had years ago.
anyone know which one should be used?
Thanks _________________ John

My '63 had the padded kind originally, but I replaced them with new padded ones. I had a parts '61 that was also padded. I wonder when they changed. _________________ '63 ragtop |

The ribbed visors are correct for your 60. |

Thanks Bugguts
Now I just have to figure out how to refill or repad them. The one that feels like it has nothing in it has a pile of what feels like the old horse hair padding in one corner. Anyone ever try to repad them?
And yes, I am too dam cheap to buy new ones _________________ John

1960 first year padded visors. 1960 only.1961-1964 are usually the ones available as new. _________________ Admin note: Bill Passed away - July, 2017
