After years of searching for a Barn door I finally find one, well part of one.

A good friend was selling off his collection of parts and in one storage room was the remains of a 54 Single cab.

So I snatched them up, as the story go's they bought it as a complete bus a number of years ago (10-15) and decided it was too far gone to fix....If only Gerson was around back then maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Anyway, They thought cutting it up and making a bar out of it would be a good idea Sad

The result....
I should note the nose is spoken for so please dont ask.

It's amazing as this is a BC vehicle and the gates are rust free!?!? A small bow, tears at the hinges and some dents but quite nice with great patina under that old paint.

It's amazing how opinions of what is too far gone have changed over the years!

Seems to me that by today's standards of parts availability and what people are reconstructing, that's still a very viable project. There are some Barndoors out there these days that have less original metal than that one would have if it was put back together.

Hey, that's my old single Geoff, wondered what happened to all that.

Yes, you guys are right, back then it was just a too rusty hulk.
I stood there with my buddy deciding if I should cut it up.
We thought about it long and hard but it seemed to rotten.
We were renting a shop and no where to keep it.
The decision was made.
I wish I have dozens from back then.
Lifes lessons.
