I'm going to try and make it. I will have to leave at 9 to go to work, but this is too big of a meeting to pass up. _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

I'd offer my driveway to camp in, but I won't be home that night. I work from 10pm to 6am. I know there is a KOA in Kent just south of the airport ( http://koa.com/campgrounds/seattle/ ) but I have never been to it. An idea is to stealth camp at the airport parking garage. It'll cost about $24 but no one will bother you. _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

What time should I leave P town to avoid rush hour on the way up. Like 10am. You all have a few cars on the road up there |

i may be able to suggest a few places in town to stealth camp. if you drive the area a bit near where the meeting is, you will see a few motorhomes and rvs n semi trucks that have lots around town that you can budge in between for a night, most likely free, and not have to many issues. i know of one place for sure, the rest are play it by ear.
10am leave time is a good time. rush hours like 330-6 ish give or take. _________________ Stuart Zickefoose

9 hours to get to Seattle from Portland? I wouldn't leave before 12. That should get you to Tacoma around 3 and that should put you just slightly ahead of traffic. The problem will be either get here a couple hours early or sit in traffic and get there at 7. _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

Yup I'm in CA, but I'm itching for a long ass road trip as soon as the Bus is done. The camping in your area looks amazing, and I've been wanting to do a Oregon / Washington road trip for a while now, pay some long overdue visits to some good VW friends and supporters. _________________ BAY PRIDE!

Thanks again for the advice. Was kidding about 10am. 12 or 1 is what I was thinking. Just didn't want to be stuck in stop and go cluster f#*k traffic. But would like to dork around for a bit in that sweet ass city.
More ideas the better. Looking forward to throwing down a pint or two with the ageatack. |

Xevin, if you like aviation and you don't mind spending $20, you could kill a few hours here http://www.museumofflight.org/?gclid=CLDs3ZzWwsACFRRhfgodz7UAVQ. Then you don't have to fight any traffic or get lost when you're ready to head to Stellars. _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

Just a heads up to everyone coming to Stellar's...from the Stellar's website:
Quote: |
Reservations are required for groups over 20 people and strongly suggested for any group over 6 people.
Stellar Pizza only accepts
one check per party and we only accept one credit card per check. 18% gratuity is automatically
added to any party of 6 or more.
We encourage you to
preorder your food
to help make your party go
as smoothly as possible. |
Meaning, bring cash to cover your drinks and meal. I don't mind using my credit card to pay the bill, but do expect to be given cash to pay it off once the bill comes.
Of course, parts for a 76 Westy go a long way too. _________________ Andrew
