Hey, welcome to Seattle then Do you get the flavor of this thread? Its just real loose get togethers for the most part. The BA6 party I mentioned - you are welcome to come if you want.
As said its a day to pick to do it. Ill narrow that down but more than likely in 2-3 weeks? Maybe Kevin will have time then and we can pull his BN4 and clean it.
Stay tuned! _________________

Hey, does the non timer function (first click to the right) of the knob only activate when the bus is on? Mine does. The timer function when off seems to work fine. Furnace kicks on for two minute intervals. Or there about. Nice and warm _________________ Keep on Busin'

Not quite a gathering announcement (though we need to have one of those again soon), but more of a Public Service Announcement...
I will be having Colin (Amskeptic) out this year again for a day of training, education, and bus repair. This will be the third year running for me and I'm always surprised that despite the numerous VWs in the area, it seems like no one else in the area really takes advantage of this unique and rare (and aging) resource of knowledge and experience. So I thought I'd put out a call to arms to the GSBG.
Jason, this would be a great chance to get to understand your fuel injection. No more abdicating to Stuart.
Stuart, you could fix things without breaking them first!
Mitch, you still alive?
Mark, he'll work on that sweet split too!
T1s, T2s, T3s, T4s, 914s, Vanagons, Diesel, Gas, etc., etc., etc. Colin understands it all. And he's a hell of a lot cheaper than a mechanic who won't take the time to help you understand the operation of your vehicle any better.
If you guys need a place to work, I'd gladly offer up my garage and tools. Colin already knows where I'm located.
Interested? Here's the details of how the visits work:
http://www.itinerant-air-cooled.com/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=12850
And here's the thread where you sign up:
http://www.itinerant-air-cooled.com/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=12851
Every year I fear that Colin will say to himself, this just isn't feasible anymore and stop doing this circuit. I'm hoping a few bodies in the Seattle area can step up, improve their buses, and keep a valuable resource in the ACVW community going for another year.
BTW, Portland and it's environs absolutely kicks our butts in this area.
/PSA
Once the conversation around this subject dies down, I'll organize a beer and food gathering. Maybe for the end of the month.
Cheers

Ok, I am up for it "if" I am around. I do need to mediablast some overriders so can I come by when I am back in town? I have a bag of glass beads already.
I'll be back in town after March 1st as I am in South America now trying not to get Zika. _________________ 70 Ghia Black convert-9/69 build date-stock w/133k 1600 SP-barn find now with a rebuilt tranny and engine

You're welcome to use the blasting cabinet anytime...once I get 220V in the garage for the compressor. My old house had the circuit breaker panel in the garage so I was able to get 220V easy. Now with the detached garaged, it's a bit of a project. Need a subpanel with dedicated circuits, etc. Goes hand in hand with some other electrical work that needs to be done in the garage. Meh. Need to get an electrician deeply indebted to me somehow. _________________ Andrew
