I was looking at an EMPI catalog from 2011 and they have advertised "new" 914 rims. What is very interesting about them is that they claim to have a 4.5 inch backspacing on a 5.5" rim.
After being scammed by a large parts dealer into buying the replicas with a 4" backspacing which didn't fit my '68 Ghia, I'm going to swap to short axles. But are these dimensions correct if someone else were in my shoes?

| The EMPI's have a 4 1/2" though as opposed the 4 3/8" |
