Putting alloy wheels on my 72 Bus and need longer studs for the front. The new wheels are off a early mercedes. They go right on and the studs for the front can be moved to the back and work fine but I am having a hard time finding longer front studs. Has anyone done this if so where did you get the studs from and do you remember the size?
P.S. I know some people hate this idea. Sorry _________________ " A poor ride is better than a proud walk"

I actually just ordered a set of direct replacement press in wheel studs that are threaded all the way to the end from Chris at t3 techniques. I was going to get the empi studs and it would be perfect but they have a lead on the end making the threads too short. This should be exactly what I need. My other option was to go standard but then I need to get lug nuts and that would save me maybe 6 bucks......better to do it the right way.

Most all this stuff you can find in a DORMAN catalog. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

I called the 1800 number for DORMAN and the rep did TONS of math and converting and such. After about 20 min we decided The only options had too large of a knurl and my hubs would need to have been drilled out using a 32/67ths bit. Or going standard using the wrong lug nuts. He had been with Dorman for 14 years and said this is what he did all day. I have no reason not to believe him. Also looked in the Dorman catalogue at orileys and we came to the same conclusion. Knurl size was always the problem.
Also I did not what year Porsche 911/944 to look up to see if these would work. Either way i have a lot of work to do to my bus to get it on the road so if it costs me a little more to get the direct replacement and be done, in this case it's fine. Too many more things to do to it. _________________ " A poor ride is better than a proud walk"
