These three cars are my favorite non-VW automobiles. Did anyone ever have one/still own one/seen in a barn or field? These are my Volkswagen-heretic dream cars right here:

My Dad had a '69 Mach1 fastback Mustang like that when I was a kid.
I know where a few of those Volvos are in a junkyard in Alabama if they're still there, it's been a couple of years since I've been there. _________________ All he needed was a wheel in his hand and four on the road. |

I have a customer's 1963 P1800 sitting in the carport by my shop, waiting for the customer to figure out what he's going to do with it. It's the early- early version of the 1800, built by Jensen. _________________ Give A Pal a Hand!

I am on the verge of perhaps getting the call from a P1800 owner I've been pestering for years! I love these cars. He came to my store the other day- and took my business card- asking me to talk with him. I still have P1800es dreams.
I've always liked minis too- but can't find one around Boise... _________________

All of your links are dead, you can't post non-VW images in the VW Gallery here. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

I had a couple early mini's. Not Coopers, just standard mini's with drum brakes, but a blast just the same.
But being British junk, they really require a lot of attention. Any of you VW guys who think your VW needs a lot of attention need to get an old British car! Then you will really appreciate the German engineering of your VW. _________________ Mother Nature is a Mean Evil Bitch! |

Wow Tram. Before I opened this thread I figured I'd get flamed for posting because a lot of people refer to ALL 1800's as "P" cars and your absolutely correct. Only the Jensen built cars were P1800's. Then there was the 1800S from 64-69. Then the injected 1800E,(Coupe) and the 1800ES (wagon). Technically all coupes are 182's and ES's are 183's.
I'm amazed at how many ES's I've worked on and seen when you consider only about 7000 were made!
I did 20 years of Volvo repair and have had a number of different 1800's but never an 1800ES,(My favorite). It kills me to see someone refer to a "P1800ES" but I got a calender from Carlsen Volvo one year that was labeled that way.
I had a few 66 Mustangs also.I want those back more than my first car,(62 Ghia). There I said it! _________________ "We buy things we don't need,..with money we don't have,...to impress people we don't even like". |

I grew up with a 66 and a 69 mustang at home. Never really liked either. I love the Volvo. There is one for sale near were I work, but it looks too far gone to get involved with. Someday, I plan on getting a Volovo, a Corvette, a Notchback, a Porsche, etc.... _________________ 67 Ghia coupe

I have never owned a Mustang, but I bought a new Cougar XR7 in 1967.
Inverness Green with buckskin hides.
Michelin "X" tires.
Is that close enough? |

I see a lot of Volvo P1800's here is Seattle. I guess due to the large Swedish and Norwegian population.
I think they are very nice looking cars.
