She's getting new hub bearings, output shaft seals and half shafts this week on both sides. Little rumble started on the left side so it will be all new and fresh.

Very Happy Thank you!

Did a little more playing around, Scored a under dash vintage 8 track player I'm still thinking about putting in. Input? Think

I did drop a cam in there I had lying around. Have no idea what size it is but its a bit lopey Laughing Top end is amazing. Still haven't found out how fast it will go. Mainly because I don't want to break my speedo. It's off and wraps around to 160 MPH when I'm doing about 80 and another 20 MPH will peg it.

Picked a set of the DIY old school Accel 8mm spark plug wires and made them work in there. Not worth it by the way Rolling Eyes Stick with the 7mm. Put in a KillerGlass transparent radiator hose too. I'll have more info on those if others are interested.

Made a quick walk around vid, Hope you enjoy.

This brings back memories; that's an Alpine Green color. Same one I bought on 1-31-75 at Wood Motors in Detroit. $3837 OTD, I still have the paperwork. Amazing car; 75hp from a 1471cc engine. Hauled ass for the time. Had it until 9-87, 150,000 miles or so at the time. $1300 is what I sold it for.

I was a VW wrench at the time, replaced the trans in '78 when the reverse shaft support bolt backed out and it engaged two gears at once. That means the teeth strip on the gears; which it did. Multiple carb repairs, glue the throttle cable anchor to the float bowl, couple of needle and seats, secondary vacuum diaphragm fell into the shift linkage and locked that....up at Mt.Shasta when that happened. Gas tank rusted internally, put a Toyota glass fuel bowl inline.

My ex drove until the engine melted in '84, water pump was leaking and she just kept on going. Replaced the cylinder head in '78. VW was selling a new head, complete, except for the tappets and cam, for $90. This was the era when valve guide seals were a "if it works". Green, black, red seals. If you were around back then, you know what I mean...Still, compared to the crap that was available, it was a great car....
