Had some spare time today and it rained so I fixed up this old under-dash 8 track player to put in the Rat.

Just need to install it then hit some flea markets for some tapes Laughing

Thats Awesome. I haven't seen on of them in a long time. I remember there was one that mounted veritcally in a car(don't remember which one) and the cassette went in through the radio tuner face.

Thanks! Never saw a vertical one. I had a portable one back in the day you use to slam the top of it to change tracks Laughing

Wondering if the sound quality will be better or awful so I'm looking forward to trying it out. Just need the time to install it. I plan on converting it to RCA and running it through the head unit so we'll see.

That would be pretty cool. they make conversion boxes for going from speaker wiring to RCA for car stereo installs.

Right on! That's what I used only the brand is Scosche. Great for the older type common ground speaker set up like this 8 track had.

It cleaned the sound up pretty good I think.

Just thought I'd drop in here and congratulate you on the build. I finally had the opportunity to see your car in person in Eureka Springs this last weekend, and it's fantastic! Thought I'd share one of the photos, and offer my thanks in bringing it out to the hotel!

Sounds pretty good, usually the speed is way off after sitting for so long. What kind of trash is laying around on the floor ? I suggest Burger Chef bags, Teem bottles or cans, maybe a empty Tareyton pack or two. I like what you've done with the Rabbit.

Shocked Can I be somewhat to blame for this or am I off the hook? Laughing

I know I'm not the first to do this by any means just wondering how many of us bad Americans are to blame for this hahaha

Nice work so far! I have a set of those wheels stashed in the garage for one of my other projects, which, incidentally, is also green. Cool
