This might have been the biggest BBB to date. With over 1400 walk-ins on Saturday, over 300 buses and the biggest crowd I have ever seen at a raffle it very well could be.
Thanks to all that traveled in to attend and sorry for those that couldn't make it. We had a very well behaved crowd with almost 0 issues to attend to for as large as the event was.
The raffle was off the hook and would like to thank all the raffle prize donors and vendors that help make this possible
The hot air balloon that was on site was a huge hit with lots of people taking rides and the grounds had a nice surprise this morning with a group of balloons taking off from out parking lot.
Glad it's finally over and in a few days will have a grand total of buses, etc.
Hope to everyone that attended again next year and see those that missed it next year _________________ Follow us on FACEBOOK

I thought I saw a bus with the number 331 in the window. That was a lot of VWs!
Great job guys! _________________ Rob

BBB 2013 was fantastic, as expected. Here are a few pictures, unfortunately quite a few were blurry.
Headed out Thursday morning I took Highway 62 off I-10. It was a little desolate out there.
Arriving in the afternoon there were already quite a few buses there. I found my friends over in what we christened "Syncro Gulch".
This is what I meant by fuzzy shots. This Bay is as nice as I've seen. Sounded great as well. My other picture of this bay was worse that this.
This picture sucks but I included it anyway because this splittie was incredible.
Headed home Sunday afternoon.
I passed a few buses while running 70-75MPH after getting to I-10.
Before dropping into Indio I spied this Westy Diesel beside the freeway.
Aryo, from San Diego was headed back from BBB with a bit of bad luck. He had a blowout, and his alternator had crapped out. Fortunately Diesel's don't really need a battery while they are running.
Back on the road.
After stopping in Indio for gas and food, I passed Aryo again. Good luck buddy. Safe trip home.

I was only at BBB for a day, but I managed to have a great time and take over 700 photos.
Thanks to the LBB for putting on another great event! _________________ Eric

I got pics. This is my neighbor Bob and his 1960 Dove blue Panel bus and his other bus he sold to another neighbor of mine Royce. It is a 1961 OG Mango bus
This is another neighbor of mine named David, he is a very cool cat and that's his yellow split bus that I have admired for a while now. My bus behind his.
And this is June daughter of Borninabus, she scootered around an had a good time there as well.
The balloons went up early, there is a friends champaign bus I sat in, cool inside.
And here the feral bus colony is making the trip back up the hill to our homes. Good times.

Millie and I won't be there this year. It bums us both out really bad. This will be only the second one I've missed. Due to the overwhelming amount of work in our Shop and a 69 Beetle that I need to finish up ASAP. Everyone enjoy the Event, travel safe. At least this year someone else will have a chance at the ever popular CV joint Challenge. LOL. |
Sorry you missed it. I missed the last two years myself. But every year i've entered the CV joint contest I've come in second to you every time. and always by mere seconds. so this year I finally won it. But I'll admit it was a hollow victory without you there. Looking forward to seeing you next year.
Over all this was a real fun year. (as it always is) The good folks of the LBB are the best! thank you all for all you do for us the attendees and all the charities The BBB event supports! |

I talked to the owner that said he just bought it 3 weeks ago, he said it was sitting outside for years. The builder took a crashed 63 in 1964, and made the conversion you see. Apparently he was a tall man so he made it so he could stand up in it. He died in 1972 they said, and the bus was sitting. _________________ 1971 Deluxe Sunroof Bay 1905 stroker, dual idf40's, 74mm Scat forged crank, engle 110 cam. This was our very first BBB show ever and we had an absolute blast! I just wish there would have been showers to stay fresh but baby wipes helped haha. We drove for a little over 5 hours and took the 10 to 62 and then the 95. Nice and easy drive out. It was just my buddy Chip and I who drove out with our 64 and 67 buses but were lucky enough to be awarded Top 20! Thank you all for such a great event and our camp neighbors for their hospitality. Cant wait to do it all again next year! _________________ Just Cruzin VW Club~Est. 1998 |

A Very Big Thank to the London Bridge Bullis for all the hard work. You put on a great a show!
I want to say thank you to the Judges and their votes.
It is an honor to receive my first top twenty award at BBB.
I also think that the balloons at the show was wonderful, I hope it will continue. As always it was great to see Walter and the new addition his little brother Big Red
I am sorry for the people who missed this wonderful show
maybe next year |

I stuck my head inside it on Saturday. What a cool vehicle. I found myself daydreaming about it.
Of course, I drooled over that Eriba Puck that was at the show as well... _________________ Tim Potts
