I have a few questions on a 66 I picked up recently. Vin says type 23. It has what looks to be the canopy mounts on the passenger roof (not sure if canopy is the right term), hehr windows, and part of the folding table left in it. I guess all that could have been added to it later, just curious if I could get some help with the m-code plate to find out what it could be or if everything was added by a PO.
Here's the M-code:

100 years from now when they have reverse atom regeneration attractor technology perfected and in a hand held back yard mechanic's price range, someone will dig up this thread and go, "What were those guys thinking? The whole thing was all there just waiting to be re-atomized. Funny how easily they cut them up back then."

That M-code plate looks like it is a regular kombi. If it was a Westfalia / SO-42, it would have had the paint code starting with 523. It could well have been converted to a camper by one of many camper companies back in the day, or by a PO.
There is a thread in the FAQ about identifying your camper, maybe it can help you with that. |
