| Ok. So I am in the process of removing the motor and tranny from the ghia.. Ran into a slight problem... All the little allen head bolts for the cv shaft are stripped... any pointers besides cutting the boots?? |

Hmmm... How will cutting the boots off help you get the allen/spline headed bolts off? Given the abysmal quality of replacement CV boots on the market these days, I'd think twice about that anyway. Can you get a vice grip on the outside of the head? come to think of it, have you dug the crud out of the bolt heads and established that they are in fact allen heads rather than splined heads instead?, that could be why they appear to be 'rounding' off when you put a six-side bit in there. _________________ Klick for my Karmann Kapers

They aren't allen head. They require an 8mm 12 point bit.
If you degrease the bolt heads and use the proper tool, I'm betting they will come out. |
