So its 1:00 am and I'm lying in bed and I realize that I forgot to pull my dad's truck in the barn. I run out to do it and scratch the hell out of it. The damage is on the front passenger door. I'm looking up auto body places to take it to so I can get it fixed. About what do you think this will cost? It's a 2010 with about 11,000 miles on it. It's his baby and I feel sick about it. Here is a picture

Depends on the shop. A good shop can blend that in since it's not a metallic. ach60 is close.. should be $350-$800 if it's a simple blend. _________________ www.nationalsterling.org

| $1500 minimum. and that's if everything goes smoothly. actually, you're probably looking a little closer to $3000. |

Less than $4.00. Russell could probably give you some tips on how to best apply it.

You told him about it, right?
I got a call last summer at work from my son and knew right off the bat that he had something unhappy to tell me. Turns out he backed the bus out of the barn and didnt have one of the barn doors open enough. Latch grazed the side of the bus, resulting in scratch/scrape/tiny crease line.
The damage can be fixed- the part that I was pissed about was the door not being open enough, as he was fooling around with friends and not paying attention.
Man up, tell your dad. He may go batshit on you, or he may not. I'll wager money that if you fix it, not tell him and he finds out later (like when the paint changes color) he'll be effing furious. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?

The first thing I did right after it happened was call him and text him a picture. I'm not going to hide it from him. He wasn't mad at all. He just said that we will look into getting it fixed. I was just freaking out right after it happened. |

i was about to say that. i would clean and buff it first. a good cleaning polish. THEN look how bad it is. if the metal isn't creased, then it SHOULD be less than $1000.
my wife backed my jeep (warn bumper) into the passenger side door and rear quarter of her beloved 2010 Challenger. In the end, it cost me just under $700... most of which was the cost of the Inferno Red paint. Ask around. Get honest estimates. But to do so, clean it up first, and try to buff it out a little.
It still made my wife sick (physically) that she damaged her car, but in the end, you couldn't tell... |

| Here's what you do. Don't say a thing. Ask your Dad for a ride to the store. Let him drive. When he's backing out of the barn say "Dad, you just scraped the barn", then point the damage out. Problem solved. |
