I'm debating the purchase of a 1962 type 2 pickup for a restoration project. Having no prior experience I'm sure I'll spend a lot of time reading on these forums and calling in buddies. My biggest concerns with the vehicle are the engine compartment, the roof, and the missing bed floor. The vehicle has rust in the normal spots like floor pan, rocker panels, but the engine compartment looks like its missing a lot. Are these common fixable issues or am I getting in over my head. I want to restore the vehicle because I want to drive and use it! Thanks any help appreciated.

Well its hard not to find an early type 2 without "Issues". Rust, cut out wheel wells, cut out engine surrounds all sorts of added "Extras" done to these poor things. So its just the matter of fixing what is wrong. Klassic Fab sells all sorts of quality replacement sheet metal for Type 2's and what you cannot find from him you can usually find in the classified section. _________________ This is my 21st year in the Auto Body/Paint Game!
