Is it like a round button?

I think you are looking at your headlight dimer switch.

If that is what it is then yes it is original.

It is a switch. Its to switch your headlights from low to high beam.

Man - I guess I am old LOL. I remember the first time I drove a car with a stalk mounted dimmer - really messed me up... and FYI - they are still readily available if you need a replacement.

Not knowing what that switch is reminds me of a situation a few years back.

My wife is from Poland and grew up driving a stick. I was sick in bed with the flu and she was going to go down to the pharmacy to get me a cure.

She went out the door and about 15 minutes latter comes in crying and all upset. My van was parked in the end of the driveway and she was going to take that, but she couldn't figure out how to drive an automatic transmission!
