Three point retractable seat belt needs shorter tunnel latch

With the seat all way back on my 74 Ghia sedan, the cable type latch stalk that mounts to the tunnel is a little too long. Is there a way to shorten it or does someone sell a shorter version. The tunnel stalk has the latch & release button, so the over the tunnel type of anchor will not work.

From what I've read on other posts, people have had luck with VW Heritage. They can special order a specific stalk length for you.

FYI, the seat belts I just received from KGPR have a tunnel stalk that is about 1" longer than the old one I have, which I assume is the original 74.
