You really want to live somewhere that has alligators waiting outside your door?

Quote:
PORT ALLEN — A 6-foot alligator showed up at the front door of a Super 8 Motel on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

A motel employee said the alligator bit a guest.

About 4 p.m., the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about an alligator at the motel at 821 North Lobdell Highway, Sheriff Mike Cazes said.

The gator bit one of the motel guests who tried to catch it before Animal Control workers showed up, said Matt Marszal, the motel’s front desk clerk.

That man was taken to the hospital, Marszal said.

Once Animal Control workers arrived, the gator was subdued within 5 minutes, Marszal said.

“I couldn’t believe something like that was out there,” said Marszal, who just moved to the area two months ago from Florida.

Maybe more importantly, you really want to live somewhere where the other guests think it's a good idea to try to catch it?

They pulled an 8-9ft alligator out of the marina in front of my balcony a few weeks ago. I told everyone I saw one swimming in and out of the boats, but noooooooo, aligators don't live there...

For what it's worth, I think it sucks! I lived there for a year because of work and hated every minute. It does stink and there is nothing to do unless you like to drink til 6 in the morning or gamble. Good luck...

I guess I have to try my luck at catching one for money then. To be honest home is what you make of it. In my line of work, you learn quick how to make home of where you end up. This will be the 9th place I will call home other than the desert for 90-120-180 days at a time. Beside that Tornados are ruthless and hit with little to NO warning. That scares the crap out of me. I've seen what the weather looks like at the beginning of one and then it touches down a few miles away. UGLY!!!

Sorry, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

What they are nice and tell you weeks out that they are going to destroy everything you own? LOL I know you get some warning of when the stoms are headed your way. They are ruthless none the less.

Maybe I missed something, are you moving from South Kadota to Louisiana to get away from tornadoes? Shocked I've been in Louisiana through a few tornadoes.

Since you asked, here is a timely example. We've been under an alert since Tuesday to be prepared for severe weather late-Friday evening through Sunday. Threat of storms prompts call for readiness
That's a full four days of advanced notice to be prepared for severe weather. The National Weather Service will be monitoring the development of these storms and also working with on-the-ground mobile storm trackers in the event the storms develop intensity. These storms don't just mysteriously spawn, launch an attack, and then disappear. Also, the number of storms that "destroy everything we own" is minute.

Here is first person experience: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4644967#4644967

Most tornadoes don't even exceed EF-2 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.

Your fears are completely unfounded.

Nope we get them too. Not to the extent Wichita KS gets them. So I picked the Shreveport area over KS. Not because of Tornados, because there is other things to do within 9 hours than visit another inner city area.
