Quick question...Red light (left of turn signal indicator) was coming on during idle. When I gave it gas, it would go off. I thought this was oil pressure light but as I read through the forum, apparently its not. Yesterday, it came on while I was driving (55 mph) and stayed on for about 20 miles then flickered off and on until I got to work. Its a 56 Oval with a 36hp motor. Any thoughts? Thanks

Sounds like the points in the voltage regulator may be sticky/need a clean, or your fan belt could be loose, or you have llose/dirty connections in the charging system somewhere

How good are your generator brushes? If they are worn down then the generator can be sporadic.
