Hello fellow samba lurkers:
I am installing a new set of pedals in my 68 Ghia. I have to use a brake rod of unknown length. Bentley says to use factory settings but do not say what the setting is. I need to get close so I can adjust at final assembly .
Thanks in advance. |

You might try this from the 70-79 Bentley:

| Recently reinstalled pedals on my 74 after pan repair & paint. First, using the pedal stop, adjusted the total pedal travel 7 7/8" measure at the tip of the pedal. The pushrod needs to be removed to do this. Then, installed the pushrod & adjusted so it moved the specified length before contacting the piston. Actually, I didn't have a way to measure the pushrod slack, so just estimated it by moving the rod/pedal so it looked like about 1mm. |

I want to thank everyone who responded to my question.
I set the rod length according to the data from Bentleys that was sent in one response.
WORKED PERFECTLY! Thank you. Outstanding people. |
