Well im starting over with a new build thread. My other one got gummed up with arguing about what my car acctually was And was abit dis organized. And really broken up through time differences in the process.
Bought the car for 2000 bucks. Its a 74 super beetle (that started like as a sunbug) Heres what it looked like when i bought it.
After i bought it i had realized there was a few holes under the rear seat. I patched them with sheet metal and setoff to get a safety test on it. For the safety they had to replace all the brake drums the steering box and replace the front struts. The PO had cut the springs and thats obviously a safety hazard.[/img] _________________ 1974 SuperBeetle Build

Well yesterday, i freiken snapped my clutch cable driving stopped at a stop sign, drove away no problem, went to shift into second and WHAM, pedal SLAMS to the floor. Fist thing i though, ahhhhhhhhh ssssssshhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiittttttttttt. Looked at it for a minute, established that there was no way i could fix this on the side of the road. I called my mom to come pick me and my sister up but i was only a few blocks from home so i started it in gear and bummed it home in first. _________________ 1974 SuperBeetle Build

Should have seen the tow truck guy trying to get it onto the flatbed. We had to keep stacking shit under the wheels so that it wouldnt botom out when we were getting the car up onto it. The stoopid stinger was drging on the ground Took us almost 10 minutes just to get it onto the truck _________________ 1974 SuperBeetle Build

I was lucky enough to have broken down close enough to home so that my dad could tow me. But it still sucks having to go through everything..Clutch cables are easy the replace though, good luck to you. _________________ PNW Dub Folk & Kitsap dub Folk (KdF)

Go to your album, go over the photo, copy the IMG code and paste in post. I love the paint! What color is that? Looks similar to the color im wanting to paint mine - Subaru World Rally Blue! _________________ 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL

naw there is an issue with the thing, it wont let me post the picture. The color is LB5R its a newer vw color, in certain lighting its close to the subaru world rally but not quite there. This paint is a pearl, so it almost turns purple in different lighting. It is really nice in person, get compliments on it all the time. When in a low light setting with ahadows and whatnot, it is almost purple and in bright light, its baisically world rally blue. _________________ 1974 SuperBeetle Build
