I just became a member today.
I have had several VWs in the past starting out with a 65 Karmin Gia Rag top and go up from there.
I am looking at a 75 standard beetle. The s/n is 1152160163 which is January 1975 production.
What I can not find is where the car was intended to be shipped to.
If 74 was the last US Spec beetle then this car is either European or Mexican but where can I find the info? I am in the prelimnary stages and have not actually seen the car in person yet so not too many details are known to date.

Your only chance is to send off for the birth certificate from germany. Depending on the country sometimes certain items will be different for some years.
