Hopefully correct, it states the cars destination was the Famous Competition Motors, in Hollywood, CA
Confused by the M Codes though:
M 050 - Dual-Circuit brake warning light. Was that an option then?
M 104 - cannot be identified? Under the technical section is calls 104 to be a red leatherette interior?
Thanks |

I have the same two codes on mine. Your question caused me to go look up the M codes and sure enough your right. I have a Feb. 1955 Beetle. _________________ Brianna's Grandpa |

This is a bit of of a guess but based on other codes that I know were re-used but I bet M50 was re-used so that M50 for a '54 is something different. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

What date was your car manufactured? My car was built on 5 October 1954. My BC has the same two options listed as 'M 050, M 104 - cannot be identified'. Seems late '54-Early '55 still have some mysteries to unravel. _________________ Cheers,

Car was built on November 26, 1954 and shipped to Hollywood on December 2nd.
One unique thing about my car is speedo, and from research is was a 54 only item.
Most speedos, the "high-beam" indicator is at the top center and the turn signal indicator is at the bottom middle. Mine are reversed.
Date stamp on back of speedo is 11.54
And the number on the back is a Beetle number |
